So here is the debate: Should toy aisles be labeled with dolls for girls and trucks for boys?
While I haven't built an extremely passionate view point in one direction or the other, I don't feel labels are necessary to any measure. At the same time, I think it is important for the parents to encourage children to play with whatever toys they prefer. Despite having shelves filled with stuffed animals and American Girl Dolls, little Grace's favorite toys are her wooden hammer and an old remote control we took the batteries out of. Go figure.
I applaud Target for taking action, but again, I think a lot of the responsibility in eliminating gender bias should be coming from home.
