After reading great reviews for the Allied Arts Guild Blue Garden Cafe Restaurant in Menlo Park - we set off to discover this hidden gem with the whole family on Friday. Tucked away in a quiet nook of downtown Menlo, the quaint setting is filled with artists' workshops, studios and galleries. We loved walking around and seeing the jewelers design their craft before lunch.
The setting of the restaurant is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating (definitely note on your Opentable reservation you'd like to be seated outside by the fountain!) Family-friendly, they were happy to provide a high-chair and there were a few other little ones enjoying lunch with their families after the Music Together class.
The setting was quite charming, but the menu was hit or miss. We will definitely be back to enjoy the ambiance, but would suggest ordering more of the appetizers (we loved the Peach flatbread and the Buratta salad- plenty to share among the six of us) as the sandwiches were universally underwhelming.

Overall Review: A- The Ambiance far made made up for the lack of choice in the menu and we will be back! The perfect gathering place for girlfriends and their babes.
